Windows 7 is here! The hotly anticipated follow-up to the (insert adjective here) Windows Vista. At PDC (Professional Developers Conference), Microsoft unveiled the Pre-Beta version of Windows 7. Many exciting new features and overall a new approach by Microsoft with regards to GUI eversince their Ribbon-interface of Office 2007. Frankly I’m excited by these changes, and hopefully many more changes to come to really separate it from Vista.

One looming question though, can it still run my old virus?

Another much-anticipated movie this year is "The Dark Knight", sequel to the ass-kicking "Batman Begins". A few teasers or shall we say viral campaign appeared on the net such as this site, and also this one, but here is a favorite of mine click here and you will be welcomed by an error page, don’t worry, go to Edit then Select All, you will be greeted by ha ha ha words, after which copy it and paste it in a notepad. Then replace every H and A with " " and then see you in December.

Woohoo! Having a blast so far in Davao City, nothing beats home. But before anything else I’ll ramble some rant. Just before I paid the entrance fee in Manila Domestic Airport a guy, with his best chum (I hope), just sidestepped me and immediately paid their tickets. They were supposed to be behind me but a guard (unfortunately) recognized them and gave them priority. I thought at first that maybe they were acquaintances but when I tried to look at the person - tada - he is a local politician in Davao City. Such a shame sir! And you want us to vote for you for a much higher position, well FU. And what’s worst was that you didn’t just said, ’sensya ha’ you just stood there and mind you own little business of cheating a simple ‘fall in line’ command.

On another note, barangay election is coming up and surprise surprise according to a neighbor, only rich people now can run for public office, wow, even in a barangay level the stakes are high, so high that even barangay officials wanna-be are giving PHP 100 to potential ’suckers’ or at least in Makati. Oh well. Election time is really here.

Today, I went to Park Square just besides Glorietta 3. Just yesterday the whole nation was shocked with the allegedly ‘bombing’ of Glorietta 2. As news media outfits reported over the wave the aftermath of that disastrous event, I was hesitant to really go out the house much less go to Park Square. But I remembered, I have to make a Gcash transaction and the closest Globe Center was in Park Square and Glorietta. Even though Glorietta was open for business I don’t want to test my luck just yet so I chose the former. The atmosphere at the whole place was so surreal. I often visited Greenbelt, Landmark, and Glorietta on a weekend to hangout and do window shopping and most of the time - if not all the time - the whole place transformed into a bazaar. But this time the place was so quiet, even though there were still people hanging around (I bet they are not there to enjoy but to be uzis). A thousand solemn faces I should say, yesterday was a very tragic day, today was even gloomier.
